Introducing our 2023-2024 Committee!!
President: Gabby Joyce (she/her)
Hi guys! I’m Gabby, your president for this year! I oversee everything that goes on within the club, offering my assistance wherever it is needed! Long story short, if anyone needs ANYTHING within dance club, it is my job to help! Whether this is just to be a friendly face or to offer advice/information about dance club, feel free to approach/message me at any time!
This year I will be focusing on helping my committee plan all our amazing competitions and dance events as well as keeping dance club running as smoothly as possible! We have lots of ideas coming up this year- for example, media, socials, workshops etc. I am most excited to hold a “Dance is a Sport” workshop for other Newcastle sports clubs to get involved with. Dance is so important to me and everyone deserves to know how hard and tiring dance really is! It is a sport just as much as the others- if not more so!
I am so excited for the next year of dance and to see old and new faces around the studios! I am so excited for what our teachers have planned and I cannot wait for soooo much fun at our socials!

Vice President: Cerys Francis-Garside (she/her)
Hiya everyone, I’m Cerys and I have the honour of being your Vice President for this year! So I’m your go to girl for all things kit, sponsors and workshops. I’ll be making sure our spare time is filled up with even more dance, and we’ll look super snazzy doing it! Dance love x
Secretary: Beth Minion (she/her)
Heyy! I’m Beth and I’m the Dance Club’s secretary for this year. That means I’ll be keeping you all up to date with everything happening in our club. You’ll probably hear most from me in the weekly emails which will be packed full of info regarding class timetables, extra rehearsals, social events and workshops. I’ll also be around to answer any questions you have throughout the year so please feel free to drop me a message or an email. I can’t wait to be dancing with you all again, see you in September!!

Treasurer: Emily Doyle (she/her)
Hi everyone!! My name is Emily and I’m going to be your treasurer for the next dance year. I will be responsible for organising the clubs finances, such as the cost of competitions, costumes, our show and ball!!
Charity & Welfare Officer: Maxime Levasseur (she/her)
Hi everyone! I'm Maxime, your Charity and Welfare Officer for 2023/24. This year, my job will be: organising fundraising events (for the Charity side), and being someone to talk to both in classes, out of classes, and in my well-being drop-ins/activities (for the Welfare side). I'm really excited for dance classes to start again after summer, and to see you all there!
Social Secretary: Ellie McDowell (she/her)
Hey guys!! I cannot wait to host some fabulous socials and balls for you all this year…Lauren and I have some unreal themes planned which we cannot wait to see the effort yous put into outfits!! (We may even introduce best dressed prizes)
We have some great new ideas as well to make the most of our winter and summer balls which we know you will all love and some fab perks we cannot wait for you to see!!

Social Secretary: Lauren Dickson (she/her)
Hey guys!! I’m so excited to be your social sec next year along with Ellie to continue making Wednesdays the best night of the week. We have some fab ideas for social themes so everyone can dress up and boogie all around the toon together (getting the best deals too of course).
As well as Wednesday nights, we will plan other social events to get everyone involved and to spend as much time with our dance family as possible

External Competition Coordinator: Holly Hindley (she/her)
I am very excited to take as many dancers as I can around the UK. I want to make the comp days as exciting as they can be, with cheers, chants, and lots of support. Comp season is my favourite part of the year so I am so enthusiastic to get started and get us to some comps!
Internal Competition Coordinator: Beth Gibbons (she/her)
Hi dancers! I’ll be organizing Newcastle comp this year, and I’m so excited. I’m going to make it so much fun and hopefully get as many people involved. I can’t wait to see you all on the dance floor and hopefully competing with us!
Show Coordinator: Heather Woodhouse (she/her)
The show is the biggest (and best) event in the dance calendar, and it’s my job to put it all together! I’m really excited to make it the best experience for both our audience and our dancers.
Lots of people consider the show to be a highlight of our club, so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on the stage next year.
Media Officer: Sophie Mattingley (she/her)
Hi dancers! I am super duper excited to be your media officer this year. I’m in charge of all NCL Dance Clubs social media platforms; Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube and the website! My role is to promote and create fun content for you all about the club, from eye catching Instagram posts keeping you up to date on upcoming events, to weekly class behind the scenes and relatable, light hearted TikTok’s! If you see someone taking photos/videos at classes and any dance event, it will be me! I understand the importance of data protection and giving permission to be in content. I am really approachable so am always open to new suggestions and trends we can participate in!
